Join us for our 2nd Annual Celebration in Rochester NY to highlight the most interesting investments across New York State over the past year in seed, venture and private equity. The event showcases seed, venture and private-equity backed businesses and thriving industries across the state, and will include business plan competition winners from across the New York.
About Upstate Capital
Upstate Capital was formed in 2003 to increase access to capital for companies and deal flow for investors across Upstate New York.
Last year’s annual deal celebration was a sell-out event - it was held in the Hudson Valley and featured Mary Stuart Masterson discussing the rise of the film industry in the region. There were over 200 guests at the event.
Registration + Networking
Everyone with a stake in seeing Upstate New York's companies flourish, including investors (angel, seed, venture, private equity, private debt and senior lenders), professional advisors (service providers, consultants, program managers, companies (startups and established companies) and key stakeholders all across the region.
AWARDS and nominations
There are 5 awards in total: seed, venture, PE and M&A “deal of the year” to companies, and “dealmaker of the year” to a person. Deal of the Year awards are given to companies who have had a transaction in the past calendar year. Criteria for “deal of the year” award include size of transaction, impact on Upstate New York’s economy and contribution to the overall investment ecosystem.
Nominations are open to anyone and winners are selected by the Upstate Capital Awards Committee. Dealmaker of the Year award is given to the person chosen by popular vote who has made significant contributions to the investment community. Nominations are open, preliminary selection will be done by committee and finalists will be announced with voting open to the public.
KEYNOTE: SAM RADOCCHIA
Sam currently serves as Co-Founder and Chief Marketing Officer at Chronicled, which leverages blockchain and IoT technologies to deliver smart supply chain solutions. Prior to serving as CMO, she led product development and architecture as Chief Product Officer for 3 years.
She is also a Co-Founder at Better Kinds, which fosters everyday practices of conscious consumption and responsible production by empowering people to make better micro decisions that lead to better macro results.
Recently named to the Forbes 30 Under 30 List, Sam is a thought leader in the blockchain sector and the founder of Machine Elf Consulting, an emerging technology and product development consulting firm based in Brooklyn, NY. Founded in 2012, the firm focuses on blockchain, IoT, and additive manufacturing advisement to enterprises and individuals.
