Keynote Speakers

Tom Stewart is the Executive Director of the National Center for the Middle Market, the leading source for knowledge, leadership and research on midsized companies. Stewart is an influential thought leader on global management issues and ideas: an internationally recognized editor and publisher, authority on intellectual capital and knowledge management, and a best-selling author.

Before joining the National Center for the Middle Market, Stewart served as Chief Marketing and Knowledge Officer for international consulting firm Booz& Company (now called Strategy&), overseeing the firm’s intellectual agenda, major research projects, and strategy + business magazine. Prior to that, he was for six years the Editor and Managing Director of Harvard Business Review, leading it to multiple finalist nominations for a National Magazine Award. He earlier served as the editorial director of Business 2.0magazine and as a member of the Board of Editors of Fortune magazine.

Sam currently serves as Co-Founder and Chief Marketing Officer at Chronicled, which leverages blockchain and IoT technologies to deliver smart supply chain solutions. Prior to serving as CMO, she led product development and architecture as Chief Product Officer for 3 years.
She is also a Co-Founder at Better Kinds, which fosters everyday practices of conscious consumption and responsible production by empowering people to make better micro decisions that lead to better macro results.
Recently named to the Forbes 30 Under 30 List, Sam is a thought leader in the blockchain sector and the founder of Machine Elf Consulting, an emerging technology and product development consulting firm based in Brooklyn, NY. Founded in 2012, the firm focuses on blockchain, IoT, and additive manufacturing advisement to enterprises and individuals.
Recently named to the Forbes 30 Under 30 List, Sam is a thought leader in the blockchain sector and the founder of Machine Elf Consulting, an emerging technology and product development consulting firm based in Brooklyn, NY. Founded in 2012, the firm focuses on blockchain, IoT, and additive manufacturing advisement. Sam has an entrepreneurial background that spans several technology companies.
She became interested in blockchain as a mechanism to facilitate trusted interoperability, a challenge she sought to overcome leading her first two companies. Upstate Capi​​​​tal was founded in 2003 to increase access to capital for companies and deal flow for investors across Upstate New York. 

Last year’s annual deal celebration was a sell-out event - it was held in the Hudson Valley and featured Mary Stuart Masterson discussing the rise of the film industry in the region. There were over 200 guests at the event.
